Fortunate Ones

Fortunate Ones is a Canadian folk-pop duo hailing from Newfoundland, made up of Catherine Allan and Andrew O’Brien. Their music blends folk, pop, and indie influences, with rich harmonies and heartfelt songwriting that creates an uplifting sound. Their debut album, The Bliss (2015), earned them a Juno Award nomination for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and garnered multiple East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs). Their follow-up album, Hold Fast (2018), continued their success, offering emotionally resonant songs and polished production.

The duo has toured widely across Canada and internationally, often teaming up with other East Coast artists like Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea) and The Once. Their music explores themes of hope, resilience, and the deep connection to their Newfoundland roots.

Fortunate Ones graced the stage at Centre in the Square in Kitchener on October 17, 2018, during their Hold Fast tour. They also opened for Alan Doyle at the venue on February 21, 2018.
