Big Wreck
Big Wreck is a Canadian-American rock band formed in 1992 at Berklee College of Music in Boston by Ian Thornley and Brian Doherty, alongside Dave Henning and Forrest Williams. They gained recognition with their 1997 debut album, In Loving Memory Of..., which featured hits like "The Oaf (My Luck Is Wasted)" and "That Song." Although the band initially disbanded in 2002, they reunited in 2010 and have since released several albums, including Albatross (2012), Ghosts (2014), Grace Street (2017), ...But for the Sun (2019), and 7 (2023).
Big Wreck has played in Kitchener-Waterloo on multiple occasions. Notably, in July 2014, they performed at Big Music Fest, a large-scale event held at McLennan Park in Kitchener. The festival featured major acts like Aerosmith, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy, Bryan Adams, Styx, Collective Soul, Moist, Bleeker Ridge, and Kim Mitchell.
In 2018, Big Wreck embarked on a North American tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of In Loving Memory Of....
