Marie Osmond

Marie Osmond is an American singer, actress, author, and philanthropist whose multifaceted career has spanned over six decades. Born Olive Marie Osmond on October 13, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, she is the only daughter among nine children in the renowned Osmond family. While her brothers gained fame as a pop group, Marie carved out her own path in the entertainment industry.

Marie made her television debut at age 3 on The Andy Williams Show. At 14, she released her first solo single, a country rendition of "Paper Roses," which became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making her the youngest female artist to achieve this feat. Throughout the 1980s, she continued to find success in country music with chart-topping singles like "Meet Me in Montana" and "There's No Stopping Your Heart" .

From 1976 to 1979, Marie co-hosted the popular variety show Donny & Marie alongside her brother Donny Osmond. The duo later reunited for an 11-year Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo Hotel, concluding in 2019. Marie also showcased her acting talents on Broadway, starring in productions such as The King and I and The Sound of Music. In addition to her stage work, she hosted her own talk show, Marie, on the Hallmark Channel and served as a co-host on CBS's The Talk from 2019 to 2020

Beyond entertainment, Marie is a successful entrepreneur. She launched the "Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Dolls" line in the 1990s, which became a hit on QVC. In 1983, she co-founded the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit organization that has raised over $7 billion for children's hospitals across North America .

Marie is a mother to eight children, five of whom are adopted. She has been open about her personal struggles, including postpartum depression and the tragic loss of her son Michael to suicide in 2010. In recent years, she made headlines by announcing that she does not plan to leave her fortune to her children, believing they should earn their own success .

In 2021, Marie released Unexpected, an album featuring operatic and classical pieces, which topped the Billboard Classical Crossover chart. She continues to perform and make television appearances, maintaining her status as a beloved figure in American entertainment .
