Mah Moud

Mah Moud is a Toronto-based Eritrean-Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his genre-blending sound that fuses experimental pop, jazz, ambient textures, and East African influences. His music is deeply introspective, often exploring themes of identity, memory, and diaspora.

His debut album, abdalla, released in 2022, is a nine-track journey chronicling his life from 1997 to 2015. The album received critical acclaim for its innovative approach and emotional depth. Tracks like “1167” and “Bruce” showcase his ability to blend gentle guitar strums with lyrics sung in languages such as Arabic or Tigrinya, creating a rich tapestry of sound that reflects his heritage and personal experiences.

In 2018, Mah Moud released the EP Maba, featuring tracks like “Khartoum,” “Cairo,” and “Kanata (29th Avenue).” Notably, all proceeds from this project were donated to charitable causes, including Ethar Relief, The Sudan Solidarity Collective, and the UNRWA.

Beyond his recordings, Mah Moud has performed at notable venues, including opening for Mustafa the Poet at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall.
